Yuri Danilov, PhD, currently is the Leading Scientist in Pavlov Institute of Physiology, RAS, Sankt Petersburg, Russia. He is a former Senior Scientist and Neuroscience Director in Tactile Communication and Neuromodulation Laboratory (TCNL), Biomedical Engineering Department, UW-Madison, USA. Dr. Danilov received an MS degree in Biophysics, in 1978, from St. Petersburg University in Russia and a Ph.D. degree in neuroscience, in 1984, from the Pavlov Institute of Physiology. He is a system Neuroscientist with experience in research on the special senses, including vision, taste, hearing and balance. Dr. Danilov is the lead discoverer and developer of the Translingual Neurostimulation technology.

William Jia has completed his PhD in 1991 at University of British Columbia (UBC) in Molecular Neurosciences. He has been an Associate Professor since 1999 at UBC and an Associate Scientist of BC Cancer Research Centre. He has been a Conjunct Professor of Fudan University, Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry and the VP (Research) for Shanghai Innovative Research Centre of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SIRC-TCM). He was the first in Canada and the first few scientists in the world using human Herpes Simplex Virus to treat cancer, which pioneered the field of oncolytic virotherapy for cancer treatment. He has developed one gene therapy drug for malignant gliomas has completed a phase I clinical trial in China. His most recent contribution is to raise the concept of transcription and translation dual regulated (TTDR) oncolytic viruses for cancer treatment. In the past years, he has received many awards and research funds. Since 1997, he has been a Scholar of Canadian Institute of Health Research. He has also received Petro Canada Young Inventors Award in 2007.

Kuldip Sidhu, PhD, BSC (Medical) is a stem cell expert at the Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales, Australia. His post doc training is from St Louis MO USA (1979-80) in assisted reproductive technology and he also worked with Prof James Thompson, Wisconsin USA (2000) who produced the first human embryonic stem cells in 1998. His research focus is on neural stem cells derived from both the embryonic and non-embryonic sources for developing future cell therapies for various neurodegenerative diseases, like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other neuronal diseases. He has established a state-of-the-art facility to study the cell and developmental biology of stem cells. The Stem Cell Lab (SCL) has expertise to culture, propagate, differentiate, engineer and transplant in animal models the neural stem cells. In addition, he has expertise in the derivation of new human embryonic stem cell lines including their clonal propagation. His lab was first to produce two hESC lines, Endeavour (E) 1 & 2 from Australia and E2 is listed on NIH registry USA for distribution. SCL has embarked on iPS Technology and produced over 100 iPSC clones from Alzheimer’s patients for studying the disease processes and drug discovery using genetic engineering and microarray technology.

Avathvadi Venkatesan Srinivasan, driven by his quest for excellence joined Madras Medical College (MMC) and received MD (General Medicine) in 1978. Later he pursued and received DM in Neurology from his alma mater. His thirst for research, skills and the latest development in Neurology made him fi nd his way to the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, his pioneering research work on Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome got him bestowed with the PhD degree in 2002. It made him the first ever recipient in Neurology from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, since its inception in 1988. His path breaking research (6 papers) in Phantom limbs, Stroke etc., with Padma Bhusan Dr. V S Ramachandran, Director, Center of Brain and Cognition, University of San Diego remain acclamatory to his undisputed authority in Behavioral Neurology and Movement disorders. He authored more than 100 scientifi c papers; dozens of his other work have found places in reputed medical journals and has published 12 chapters. His research papers presented, won acclaims in 60 National conferences and in 25 International conferences held in UK, USA, Japan, Australia, China, Europe and other countries. He is the only one from India to collaborate with Dr V S Ramachandran, who is the first recipient of Padma Bhusan for his contribution to Neurosciences
